Nightlife

In Milan you can enjoy any kind of night attraction and they are really too many to enumerate. We will only give you a few directions where you can find lots of restaurants, discos, pubs and fun.

You may think that most of the nightlife is in the city center. Well, you’re wrong: after 9 pm the historical center turns into a beautiful desert, so head towards those areas down here to have some fun after dinner 🙂

On top, a couple of words about aperitivo. It’s quite typical to have aperitivo before dinner, supposed to be something close to a beer and a bite. This in Milan turned into a full dinner at a cheap price. In alla the areas listed down here, from about 6 pm to 9 pm, you will see a lot of places crowded with people standing in front of a buffet with a plastic dish. How it works? Easy: get something to drink and you can eat as much as you want.

• Navigli area (canals). Well yes, we do have canals. Most of them have been buried but there are still huge areas open in the southern part of the city. There are plans to partially reopen some of them, it would be just beautiful! Canals were used to move goods from cities nearby and to reach main rivers and lakes by boat.

Nowadays the two biggest canals (Naviglio Pavese and Naviglio Grande, connecting in Darsena) are one of the most attractive areas for nightlife.

There are lots of buses and trams in the area, just point your Google Maps here. The closest metro stop is Porta Genova M2.

The most crowded areas are down the 2 canals here and here, around the Darsena (former “docks” of Milan) here and up in Corso di Porta Ticinese here.
