UBER and other services you may be familiar with (like Lyft) are just not present or quite different from other countries.
In Italy to drive a car for money you will either be a professional Taxi driver with public licence (have a look here for info) or a professional NCC driver (car rental with driver). I won’t go deep in the quite huge differences, at the end the service is more or less the same and one aspect is constant: you can’t legally drive a car professionaly in Italy if you don’t have a professional driving licence and a valid TAXI(public) or NCC (private) licence.
What’s perfectly legal in other places, could lead to immediate car confiscation and heavy fines over here.
As a result, if you open up your UBER app here in Italy, don’t expect a guy picking you up on a cheap sedan. He will be a professional NCC driver with a huge black Mercedes.
There are different apps that looks like some other quite similar you may have seen abroad (like FreeNow), but again: when booking a ride, only a regular white TAXI or a licensed NCC driver will show up.
